Social Rides & Events

Being a member of ORC isn’t all about the hard work of training and competing, we hold a number of Social Rides and Events throughout the year, giving us a chance to meet up and socialise on and off our horses.

ORC likes to start the year with our New Year Social in January, this non riding social is a chance for members old and new to catch up and look forward to events coming up in the year ahead. We continue in March with our Annual Supper which takes place in a different local pub each year, again a chance for members to meet in a setting without horses and a chance for members to let committee members know about any events or activities they would like us to organise in the coming months.

Our regular annual social rides include our February Snowdrop ride around the glorious Barton Abbey, our May Bluebell Ride around the stunning Ditchley Park including bluebell covered woodland and our September Blackberry Ride across the stubble fields of The Tews.

All these rides are led by a member local to the area, are suitable for all level of rider and a great opportunity for members to experience hacking and scenery they wouldn’t normally see. We welcome any ideas for new rides and routes, please contact oxridingclub@gmail.com if you have any suggestions.

Our AGM takes place in late November or early December, this is a chance for all members to catch up with the years events with our Chairman’s Report, alongside an informative talk and hearty supper.
